Hot Pink and Summer Butterflies: How to Dress Up a Plain Black Skirt!

Today I decided to jazz up a basic black skirt with brighter colors.  Of course, one of my favorite colors is hot pink, so I had to add that brilliant color to the mix.  Here’s a few pictures I took, including close ups of my new hairdo, a wonderful straw set thanks to my favorite hair stylist!  She’s in Atlanta, GA and I absolutely love her!
Because I’m out of town I couldn’t do my black heels, but you can also add stilettos to this outfit to make it stand out and pop even more.  The shirt is adorned with butterflies and I pulled the pink color out of the shirt into my short sleeve tshirt and accessories (earrings).  Later I found a fuschia pink bracelet at Cato on sale for $1.99.  Can’t get better than that!
I found the pink shirt at TJ Maxx or Ross, one of those discount stores and got a bunch of others that I can put underneath almost any spaghetti strapped dress or sleeveless shirt.  It adds more dimension to the entire outfit!

This is by far one of my favorite hairstyles and my favorite color (probably since I was a young girl).  I still have a picture of myself wearing pink earrings as a little girl.  These bright colors lift your soul and make you happy!

And there you have it!  This is how you can dress up a plain black skirt adding a little pizzazz to a staple piece in your wardrobe.  Go thrifting or shop the sales racks and you’ll have an fun time matching pieces together with the basics that are probably already in your closet.
