I do not think that anyone is as excited for Spring as I am! Over here at Why I Wear Skirts we want to be just as ready for Spring as we were for Winter and we want all our lovely readers to be ready as well. Spring time is time to bring out the brighter colors and luscious pastel tones. With all of these fashion decisions to make, finding the right hand candy is very important.

A nice way to spruce up the visuals of your eye candy is to find some nail polish in a color that is a nice contrasting color to your bag. The contrasting colors between the bag and your nail color is sure to be an eye catcher. We recommend trying bright colors that pop, try using a bright contrasting color on a bright contrasting color for super pop.

I highly recommend that you purchase a pastel tone bag as a homage to the spring time spirit of warm bright tones. Put away your dark winter bags and brighten up your closet in every area including your tote. You can find various types of bags from clutches to large totes in almost any pastel color. Here are an array of wonderful pastel colored totes pictured below, which one do you prefer?

Keep Calm and Always Sparkle...

Every girls should have a little sparkle in her life...and her wardrobe.  We're simply in love with sparkles, shines and glistening jewels.  That's why we've created this post for the glamorous and the not-so-glamorous girl.

Even adding a hint of sparkle into our wardrobe can go a long way in creating a stunning look!

From the time we are little princesses we are introduced to a world of shine- glitter flowing through our hands and onto art projects, our hair, lip gloss and more.  So why not indulge in a mature sense of sparkle?

These earrings are breathtaking and would look beautiful on everything from a gorgeous glistening gown to a more casual outfit (jeans, a sweater and gold stiletto heels).  The Kate Spade diamond, gold plated earrings to the right are to live for!

Another way to add sparkle into your daily wardrobe is by purchasing a sequin pencil skirt.  This will create a casual or formal look that you can always dress up or down.  But either way it will be extremely stunning and fashionable.  You can wear it with a sweater, t-shirt, or even a collared suit jacket.  Then pair it with your favorite pumps (black or colored- the bright florescent look on the fashionistas below is Super-HOT for the upcoming spring/summer months).  You'll walk out the house feeling like a million bucks!

Every beauty queen and woman of honor leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.  That's why the following look- 'Sparkle in Gold' is so gorge.  Gold studded earrings, gold and diamond chandelier sandals, or a gold sequin top with a basic skirt in black or white will create a beautiful yet chic look.  I know you beauty queens will leave a glistening trail of joy wherever you go...

Don't stop sparkling (or looking at this page).  This Holy Chic has it going on with her fuschia pumps and silver chandelier colored skirt.  Notice how she matched all the glam with a toned-down message t-shirt and some cute sunglasses.  Her bag adds that extra edge in leather.  Purple and fuschia are a wonderful compliment to one another and you can do a lot with this inspiration.  Go to your closet and if you don't own a sequin skirt we recommend you buy one as a staple that will bring your closet basics to another level.  By the way, don't worry about money (find a discount, consignment or thrift store and get one half-off or at some crazy cheap price- no one will ever know and they'll think you paid hundreds of dollars on it).

The subtle blend of champagne, diamonds and light pink is soothing and pretty.  Whether it's a full gown, alluring pumps or an MK diamond studded watch, everybody better watch out because the romantic you has walked into the room.  Be subtly bold and pretty in pink tinted champagne.  Don't forget, you can also wear the watch below with a more casual outfit as a statement piece.
Feeling a bit more urban or like going for deeper colors?  Black is also a great alternative color that looks nothing less than extremely classy in textured sparkles.  Gold and black is always another head turning combination in anything.  Check out the black textured (suede), gold buttoned jacket with sparkly gold blouse.  So stately yet cool and calm.  Then there's the sailor look with stripes and Christian Louboutin pumps in black sparkle-red undersurface.
Have you had enough of sparkles yet?  Well don't turn your head yet, we're about to switch it up with gold and black.  This eye makeup is such an appealing look for a night out in town with the girls or a date night with your beau.  Eye stopping!  Did you know you can go all black and still glisten?  Match a black or hunter green sequin skirt with a leather jacket and sweater.  Urban and fun.  Gold and black are such a fierce combo.
NYFW's Fall 2014 Collection even added a taste of glistening glory with the color silver (appearing all throughout collections).  Go all silver with designer Bibhu's classic, formal suit.  Or soften it up with a flowing Jenny Packman skirt and a gentle sweater.  Finish the look off with a shimmery or feathered handbag and silver pumps.
These brown toned beauties are all decked out with shimmery gold, iridescent, and bright colored makeup.  You may or may not want to go this bold but a simple touch or gold eyeshadow, sparkled lipstick or colored blush can go a long way in creating an extraordinary look.  Hats off to the black beauties of America!
Spring is almost here and if you are in a cold-dark part of the nation, you're probably ready for the snow and gloom to end.  Time for flowers, chirping birds and sunshiny colors.  Be inspired by the color pink with a hue of cream and hint of shining silver.  Nail art is another creative way to add sparkle to your attire, an entire sparkling ballet shoe or bring attention to your power step with a silver undertoning sparkled pump.  You'll feel more fab just because you know it's there...
And finally, we'll end with a little household inspiration.  Bringing sparkle into your living space adds a heart beating joy to the princess in you.  Sparkle it up with gold pillows, a silver blanket, or a gold sparkling comforter.  Can't ask for more glam than that!  Match it up with a chandelier and soft colors like creamy shades of white or the color black.
We hope you all enjoyed our special on how to bring out the sparkle in you!
Remember Beautifuls...
Keep Calm and Always Sparkle.

By the way, write a note below so we know you've stopped by and we'd love to comment back.  How are you going to add a little bit of sparkle (or a lot) to your wardrobe or interior decor?

Accesorize: Creative Ways to Heighten your Wardrobe!

Accessories are such a fun way to add glamour to a basic outfit.  Today I want to show you how to add a bright or not-so-bright belt to your skirt or dress!!!

Okay we're going to start basic, but don't worry...it gets better.  This is one way to add a simple touch to a basic skirt.  A pencil thin belt can go a long way!

I must admit that this is my favorite look of this blog entry; there's such an ease and natural flow to this outfit.  She wears the belt over a warm sweater with a cool white shirt.  The purse and sunglasses are a hit!  Imagine this same outfit without the accessories.  It would actually be quite bland.  Also, no need to overdo it.  She is doing well without earrings or a necklace.

And you can wear a belt over a jacket with no belt loops to make a really cool fashion statement.  Just play around with belts and layers until you get the look you want!

Here are some really cool ways to add a belt to your favorite dress or khaki skirt.  Your dress does not have to have belt loops to wear a belt with it and the belt doesn't have to match the dress exactly.  Yellow and red go great with grey tones and a darker brown industrial belt goes well with khaki:

A red belt on a solid black or navy blue skirt/dress is almost always a winner:

This thin red belt brings out the classic character of this polka dot and navy blue look.  I love the bow!  Don't you?  And the matching red purse is a winner!

I hope you enjoyed these looks!  Now it's your turn...go for it and send me pictures! Tip for the economical shopper: I always find really cute belts at thrift stores for really low prices.  And Salvation Army has a half off day on Wednesdays where I live!  Find a thrift store and match up your new belt with an old timeless piece.
