The Trumpet Skirt

The Trumpet Skirt is also identified as a Mermaid Skirt but for this post I will use the title, "Trumpet Skirt".  The cut of this style fits snuggly around the hips and upper thighs, down to the center of the thighs (trumpet skirt) or knees (mermaid skirt), then dramatically flaring out into a beautiful trumpet head.  This creates a very appealing look!
It is titled as such because of it's shape, resembling the shape of a trumpet.  The picture above is from designer, Carmen Marc Valvo's Spring 2013 Line.   This gown and cut is especially flattering for the curvaceous women.  Please keep in mind that the Trumpet Skirt can be made in a more casual style based on the material used- i.e. jean or linen material, creating an elegant, yet edgy feel!
