Real World, Fantasy Hair

Hello Lovelies! We love color almost as much as we love skirts. Almost. But we have fallen head-over-heels for the new fantasy hair color trend. Many celebrities, bloggers, and fashionistas have taken a chance of fantasy hair with colors ranging from pink, to blue, to green, or all three! Below are some tips on how to have your crown become your new statement piece:

Permanent Dying

The most permanent way of achieving fantasy hair. Your first step is to lighten or bleach your hair. Then choose a semi-permanent hair dye in the color of your liking. Depending on your color you may have to tone your hair before applying the color. Toning, essentially, takes the brassy-orange color out of your hair. If you don't have any experience or do not feel comfortable with lightening your own hair, then go to a professional colorist who will gladly help you achieve your look.

Weaves and Extensions

A less permanent, yet still effective way to experiment with hair color, would be to add in colored weaves or extensions to your own hair. You can purchase human hair weave or extensions and follow the steps above to color the hair and then install it. Some extensions come pre-colored. Just buy and install! Another option is to purchase wigs in a fantasy color and rock that as well! All the color, but with the option of taking it out and not committing to coloring your own hair.

Chalking

Chalking is a new method for experimenting with hair color. A lot of brands sell different and bold colors. All you need is your hair chalk, gloves and a flat iron. Dampen your hair and gently rub the chalk over your hair in a downward motion. Then use a flat iron over the color to seal it on your hair. After one shampoo, the color will wash out and your ready for a new color!

Hope this post inspires you to add a little color to your crown of glory that will definitely make a statement all year round! Tell us what colors  you willing to try this season?
