The Classic Fall Makeup Trends

It is time to bust out the smokey eyes, dark pouts, and oh that glitter! Here are some photo inspiration to inspire you to jump feet first into fall's classic makeup trends:

The Smokey Eye

A smokey eye is a eye makeup style that mimics the effect of smoke. It is usually dark and smudged, which gives the eyes a sultry or even mysterious look. Smokey eyes can be created with dark browns, blacks, or even dark colors, such as green. If you're a beginner, you can use a cream eyeliner and smudge out the liner with a brush or your finger. An easy glamorous look to try this season.

Vamped Out Lips

Maroons, plums, violets, espresso, and even midnight are the star lip colors for this season. Exfoliate your lips and make sure to use your favorite lip moisturizer prior to lip color application. Healthy lips will ensure your lip color lasts longer and your lips aren't cracking through your lipstick. Line your lips with a lip pencil similar to your lipstick, apply your lipstick, blot with a tissue and reapply. By blotting, you get rid of the excess product that is liable to bleed beyond your lip line. Rock this with simple eyes in the daytime or smokey eyes for a night out.

Oh How She Shines!

With Autumn comes that euphoric feeling that the holidays are right upon us. Bring in that cheery spirit early in your make up! Look for lip gloss with shimmer and gold. You can add a little glitter to your regular daytime look or amplify the night with eyes that truly illuminate.

The Yes and No!

Finding our individual fashion sense is definitely a journey of self-discovery, fun, and inspired revelation, but it is also one of trial and error.  Some of us may get away with the trial, but unfortunately not always with the error. Between showing too much skin, wearing the wrong color combinations, over accessorizing, looking too sloppy or wearing too much make up, there are some looks that do not need to be revisited while there are others that can stand the test of time.

How our clothes fit can either make or break an outfit. Avoid a fit that is too baggy especially in cases of a suit(shown below) or too tight in general. If you’re trying to achieve a chic baggy look, however; you can revert to the tasteful use of oversized wear similar to the image on the right.

How much make-up is too much make-up? One big no no of fashion is an overworked facial appearance. If you find yourself putting on one to many layers of foundation and blush, perhaps it is time embrace the more natural look.

In terms of color mixes, colors such as yellow and brown are an example of combination that do not always necessarily blend well together; opt for staple color mixes such as blue and orange or yellow and purple instead.

On a more positive note, there are some fashion rules that never go out of style that every woman can follow to make it in the fashion world. These are the certain ‘you can’t go wrong rules’ that can be applied no matter the weather or season.

First up is adding a pop of color to your wardrobe. Color will always be in style and a tool to add some spice and variety into your looks! Mixing and matching colorful prints also works great with the right fashion eye!

The second and third timeless rules involve owning the ever so versatile black dress and a pair of black or nude heels to go with essentially everything in your wardrobe.

Owning a few items to accessorize that are not necessarily occasion specific such as a staple pair of hoop earrings in addition to a well-tailored blazer or watch will also bring usability and versatility into your closet.

All in all, the greatest rule is that you do not always have to break the bank in order to achieve your best looks! Invest in a few quality treasures such as a lux handbag and then bargain or thrift for the rest. There you have it! You’re on your way to your best fashion year yet!

Falling Into Beautiful Skin

Autumn is here! The leaves change, your wardrobe changes, but don't forget your most important accessory...your skin. Your skin care regime should change with the seasons. As we enter into fall, which brings cold, dry air and wind, your skin is up against new elements. Here are some tips to transition into fall with fabulous skin!

Moisturizing

As the air becomes less humid, your skin has less moisture available to it. Switch out your light summer moisturizer for a thicker, creamier one. Facial oils are also a good investment with those that have naturally dry skin to begin with. No more thirsty skin! Bonus tip: Invest in a deep moisturizing night cream so your skin gets quenched as you get your beauty rest.

Exfoliating

When skin become more dry, the dead skin flakes off and is more noticeable during the colder months. No one wants flaky skin! By adding either an exfoliating facial wash or a scrubber along with your daily wash will take all of the flaky dead skin away and leave your skin radiant and smooth. Don't forget about your lips! You can either use a lip sugar scrub or your toothbrush to make sure your lips are flawless and ready for those beautiful dark fall lippies.

Toner

Depending on your skin type, it may be good to give a toner a try. Some have alcohol, while others are made with less intense ingredients like witch hazel. Toners can help to combat dryness, remove makeup and impurities, tighten skin, and combat acne and breakouts. If your skin is prone to dryness, avoid toners with alcohol. If your skin is more oily, alcohol toners are your friend. Don't be afraid of trial and error.

Sunscreen

Hey, just because you aren't at the beach doesn't mean the sun has left! Sunscreen should be apart of your daily regime no matter what season. Sunscreen helps protect you from the sun's harmful rays and also prevents against premature aging. Make sure you pay attention to the expiration date on your sunscreens for the summer. If they are old, toss them for a brand new bottle.

Hope this post has helped! Remember, skin is a reflection mostly of your diet intake and exercise. So keep up with your fitness goals and make sure you are getting in those eight glasses. Healthy skin is beautiful skin! Be beautiful. Be blessed.
