Kenyan Glam: Today's Look

Today’s Look! Inspired and Received from Kenya, Africa. I loved wearing this look with my hot pink stilettos. They added instant glam to this tribal-like outfit.  This was so much fun!

The A Line Skirt is a very flattering style for women to wear; it is called this due to the A shape it makes on the outward line of the skirt.

Best Body Type: Pear Shaped Women- This skirt type brings attention away from your waist and hips to your lower body.

The Pencil Skirt

I absolutely love the Pencil Skirt.  Here are a few in different colors and styles from Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2013 Line.

You can either dress up the pencil skirt or dress it down.  You can wear a jean pencil skirt with a t-shirt and heels.  You can wear it with a dressy blouse and classic heels, for a romantic look or you can wear it with a collared shirt and conservative heels, for a more corporate-business look.

No matter what, wearing a pencil skirt will create a classiness that exudes timelessness.

Accessorize it with matching jewelry and a cute purse and you're good to go!

Color Matching: How to Wear Complimentary Colors using a Color Wheel

Use this color wheel to create a head turning combination.

Have you ever wondered how to match your clothes or even interior decorate like a pro?  The secret behind the beauty in fashion, photography, art and decorating lies within The Color Wheel. Of course, there is a lot more that goes into the perfect picture, outfit or decor...but understanding complimentary colors will go a long way!

Matching the right colors together can turn your wardrobe into another world.  And it's free!

When you bring this wheel into your outfits, your home or your office, it will bring you more joy and you'll notice a tremendous difference in how you feel wearing colors together.

Below are a few examples of  complimentary colors in action:

Red and Aqua (Turquoise) are a really trendy, popular combination right now.  Notice they are right across from one another on the color wheel.  You only need a little of one color to make a statement.  Try not to overdo it so you don't end up looking gaudy (or like a Crayola Box)!  And remember to blend it with a neutral color like brown, beige, cream, white or black to calm it down some.

Only a splash of turquoise is needed to make a statement.  Source:www.harpersbazaar.com

Another fun combo is pink and turquoise.  This has been in style for a while now (which means it's going out) but it brings such a vibrant pop:

Lime green and pink (hot pink or pastel pink) go well together too:

Or you can try yellow and blue:

The colors orange and blue are also a beautiful blend:

Imagine a world of refined, beautiful, classy women with updos, femininity, heels and purses.  A world of women who could do it all, everything from interior decorating, entrepreneurial work and car maintenance.

This woman is not defined by societal norms- she is not a mammy, a Jezebel, a housewife, or a just a career woman.  She is a well rounded woman of grace and dignity.  Her response is always poised and defined.  She is not afraid of challenges, feedback or correction.  She constantly reaches for higher heights and has a sense of self awareness and identity.

She does not allow her circumstances and situations to get the best of her; she has learned to laugh at life.  She enjoys beauty- the beauty of creation, the beauty of a sunset, a quiet beach, a peaceful river and a restful room.  She is not bound by the business of life; she is not intimidated by a hectic schedule.

She enjoys maintaining her appearance, yet she is convinced that the beauty residing within is what really matters eternally.  This woman can and will do it all.  She is not afraid of the Big S Word- She recognizes that Submission is a Graceful Choice.  A Choice to withhold her strength to please the desire of others.  She calls this the preference of others.

Her Submission does not change her will or who she is, it is simply an opportunity to give others a moment of enjoyment and progression.

She is free to enjoy the pleasures of life, yet keeps them all in perspective.  She is in control of her desires and takes others into account in her choices.

She is a refined woman of class, knowing she is free to bare it all, but choosing to be graceful and appropriate in all situations.

This woman is the New 21st Century Woman- An athlete, A hero, A mother, A wife, A fashionista, and much, much more!  She is a woman of grace, of dignity and of class.

She is cute, yet strong.
Discipline, yet free.
Purposeful, yet open.
Careful, yet relaxed.
Feminine, but sporty.
She is free.

This is the New 21st Century Woman.
